Seiko Hayase is a visual artist born in Shiga, Japan, and now based in Mallow, Co. Cork since 2018.
She lived in Marseille, France, after graduating from Nagoya University of Arts. She works with painting, sculpture, installation and collaborative projects, trying to develop her artwork not bound to specific materials. At the same time, she tries to find a socially engaged voice in her artwork.
She is researching hidden emotions, what they are and how they look. Her aim is to stimulate a response from the audience – and in herself too.
She is working in Sample-Studios and, recently, in the National Sculpture Factory.

Collaboration street performance “Creepy Parade”, performed with her team at Uillinn, West Cork Arts Centre, October 10th 2021.
